This prayer request is for baby Lucas:
Lucas has been diagnosed with congenital ptosis (droopy eyelid) on his left eye. We thank God that the vision in his left eye has not been affected yet. However, two eye specialists have suggested to perform surgery (removal of soft muscle tissues/insertion of a silicon band) to lift up his left eyelid so that it will not develop into a lazy eye. The draw back of this surgery is that the eyelid will not be able to close completely after surgery has been done, and is permanent.Right now, the doctor has advised us to do 2 things. First is, 1/4 of the time to patch his right eye so that he will be forced to use his left eye and exercise the muscle in his eyelid. The 2nd is when the patch is removed, to tape up the left eyelid so that he develops normal vision in both his eyes. Our next appointment with the eye specialist will be on 26th Dec to assess how well these methods have worked and whether he is managing to open his left eye on his own.We ask for your prayers for the strengthening of the muscle in his left eyelid so that he will gain control of the left eyelid by then and will not have to go through any surgery.
