House Blessing Party

Today I went to Aunty Esther's house. It was a house blessing party because she got a new house at Bedok. We were there together with Capstone cell group. Below are the pictures taken when we were there. Today was also Aunty Esther Birthday.

Birthday Party cum Barbecue

Yesterday was an extremely busy Sunday for us. As usual our family went to church in the morning and in the afternoon, we went to Mummy's colleague Aunty Wati's house. It was her son's birthday and they had a celebration at their home. This birthday party was special because it had programmes lined up for the kids. First there was face painting activity where all the children get their faces painted in all sorts of animal design. There were lion face, elephant face, and sweet little butterfly on the cheek. Because I am too young for face painting I can only enjoy by looking at those older brothers and sisters doing it. Following the face painting activity came the most anticipated show of the day and that was the magic show.
It was exciting to see pigeons appearing from nowhere and pieces of papers falling from the sky. I wonder how the magician do it??
Yeah going out again!!!

We left the party at around 5pm and headed towards Bayshore Park. This time round was Daddy's colleague from New Zealand who invited us to his place for a barbecue. The scenery there was very nice and peaceful. Daddy had a great time fellowship with his colleagues while Mummy was busy with food and as for me I entertained myself with a new hat.
Wow I am going barbecue

Developmental Milestones

Ever since the previous post on Naomi's developmental milestone, I realised that I had so much to update on this one. Wow gosh ! She indeed is growing and changing each day.
Earlier this month I began to encourage her to use a sippy cup to drink water. Initially I bought the one with a straw based on the recommended age but she didn't response well to it. Naomi don't really know how to drink from the straw and end up choking almost at every drink. So my friend suggested that I change the straw type back into a teat type for her to gradually adapt from bottle feeding to feeding from a cup. I take heed of the advice and changed it happily thinking that it will solve the problem. But to my surprise this time, she simply pushed the cup away and refused to drink any water from it. What went wrong I really don't know. Worried that she might be dehydrated, I revert back to bottle feeding.
Somewhere in the middle of last week, we re-introduced her the straw cup again and to our surprise, she likes it and know how to drink from it. Isn't it strange and yet amazing?
Thank God she has crossed another stage of her milestone.

The next thing I want to announce is that Naomi finally has a tooth coming. We have been waiting for this moment for months. For the past few days, she was very vocal and in a kind of irritable mood. Last night she starts having running nose and this morning I saw a small whitish patch on her gum. Guess the teething process starts now....

The meeting between Waipo and Grandma

Today after Church, we went to Waipo's house. Grandma is coming to visit Waipo and at the same time invite Waipo to Er Su wedding in November. This was the first time I saw them altogether and even though I don't understand what they are saying I knew they are discussing about me cos grandma keep pointing at me. At around four plus we say bye bye to Waipo and I went home to have a rest before evening programme starts.
What a crowd !!

At night I attended a wedding dinner. It was Mummy's church friend , Aunty Faye's wedding. It was my first time going for a wedding dinner and I was very amazed by the atmosphere and especially the lighting's in the restaurant. I managed to stay awake through out the event and as usual falling asleep in the car during the journey back home.

Developmental Milestones

Passing the nine months old milestones was something to Thank God for. We thanked him for giving us this bundle of joy in our family. As Naomi grows healthily and cheerfully each day, we as parent felt a sight of relief knowing that she is well and developing correctly.

Being a nine months old baby means that she is beginning to become more active and mobile, more aware of her surroundings, capable of performing tasks beyond your imagination and much more yet to be discovered.

Over the past two weeks, Naomi was able to use her index finger to point at things. Whether it's the lighting, birds in the sky or even upon seeing us. This act not only symbolised a certain maturity in her motor skills but also her ability to understand objects. It really delight us. Beside pointing, she was able to clap her hands together when you told her to, able to shake her head when asked to dance and able to stand up while holding on to something. All these acts were being displayed towards the end of her eight months period and by now it was part of her daily activities.

Although it gave us satisfaction upon seeing her displaying these acts, we must also constantly remind ourselves that our little baby is growing each day and undivided attention for her is a must. What happened this morning was a classic example of negligence which most parents may have encounter...

This morning as usual we put her in her chair for breakfast and after breakfast, my maid let her watched a baby programme in the living room before proceeding to house chores. Vincent was there doing his work with his back facing Naomi. Suddenly with a thump, Vincent turn around and saw Naomi lying on the floor. He rushed towards her to pick her up and she began crying. Obviously she had fallen out of her chair!

What had happened was something unexpected because she was being buckled to the chair and her chair was being sandwiched between the sofa. So how she managed to come lose and land onto the floor was beyond our apprehension but Thank God she was alright.

So the conclusion was she must have climbed out of her chair and unto the sofa (hope so) and slip off the sofa and fell to the floor. Sound logical but the thing was she can't stand on her own yet or maybe she was able this morning.

A very important lesson learnt and to share.

Never leave your little one alone even with restrainer on cos you never know what they are capable of.

Hi! I am nine months old already

Sign, Say and Play Last Lesson

Today was the last lesson of the sign language class and I'm pretty sad about it. Today's theme was at the park and the teacher brought out the swing and the slide for us to play. Although I would prefer it to be a real outdoor park but overall I still enjoyed it.
Next week onwards, I don't know what Mummy is going to do with me during Saturday? Probably we will go to the market together with Daddy. It's has been a long time since our last visit to the wet market in Lorong Ah Soo.

Arrival of New Cot Bed

Today my new cot bed came and I was very excited about it. It was much longer than the current one that I slept in. The current bed was a playpen that Mummy bought at a warehouse sale. It cost only $30 and some more brand new. What a bargain right? So now my playpen really became a place where I shall play in.
Wow, now I can practise my standing up Half way there, just a bit more strength
Yeah I am standing!

Re- visit to the hair saloon

This evening Daddy brought me to Orchard Road to fetch Mummy after her work. Mummy had an appointment for a hair cut at Takashimaya. After her own hair cut, she ask Aunty Sue whether can help me trimmed my hair.
This was actually my second time to a hair saloon. The first experience was a terrible one that Mummy decided to call it a quit after the stylist half way through the process. It was a guy stylist at my house downstairs and I don't liked him the moment he hold the scissors above my head and start cutting. And eventually with all the crying and struggling I end up with a terrible hair cut that was incomplete.
This time the feeling was different, Aunty Sue was very gentle towards me and I let her cut my hair. I can even smile at the camera unlike the previous one where all the pictures turned out blur because of too much movements.
Mummy commented that I really know how to choose between HDB and Orchard saloon.

All done and what a beautiful new hairstyle me and Mummy had.

First Visit to the ZOO

Lately Mummy is getting busier so my blog updates was getting less frequent. I hope she will be more hardworking in doing the updates otherwise you guys will be bored. For the past week I was pretty busy with activities too.
I went to the Zoo on 1 October with Aunty Irin's family. It was a public holiday (Hari Raya) and it's Children's Day too. We reached there around 1pm and spent the whole afternoon visiting the animals. I saw a lot of animals which some of them I've seen them in the books before. I liked the Ostriches very much because he plays Pee-A-Boo with me. By the time we left the Zoo around 5pm, I was already in deep sleep as I've fully exhausted my energy.
