Christmas Updates & Count Down

If you've been visiting the blog and saw the same old post, I would like to apologise for the disappointments. Since the festive season kick start, my family was out and about most of the time and personally for myself, I was brainstorming till the very last cell of my body on the preparation works of Naomi's first birthday celebration.

Therefore since today is New Year's Eve I better get the post up to conclude the happenings all these while and mark the closing for year 2008.
Part 1
Dec 20 (My Hope Singapore)
My family participated in the "My Hope Singapore". It was an evangelistic outreach event
initiated by Billy Graham. The purpose of this event is to invite our friends to our house and share with them the "True" meaning of Christmas. For many, Christmas is a time of celebration, parties and gifts exchange.
However the truth about Christmas is : it marked the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. He was born on this day to be a living sacrifice for our sins. "His death fulfill the prophecy, remove the need for further sacrifices, and redeemed a sin-filled world"
Taken from the Daily Bread :
The wonder of who Christ is and the wonder of why He came are only the beginning. The wonder of what that can mean to our lives is beyond imagination.
In John 1:12 we read an important promise to us from the God of heaven:
As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name

Imagine, the Maker of heaven and earth is the One who make it possible for us to know Him, to find forgiveness for all our wrong doing, and to receive more than eternal life - to receive the privilege and wonder of becoming part of His family.
God did all that by sending His Son on that first Christmas. If you will talk to Him, admit your failings, express your needs, acknowledge His authority over your life, and accept the gift of forgiveness His Son has made possible, you can know the greatest of all wonders- the wonder of new life in Christ.

(Ashley & Deborah's Birthday Party)
This morning Ashley & Deborah celebrated their birthday in church. Both are turning three in the month of December. There were nice food, games and Mimi had a great time there even though she can't participate much.
Happy Birthday Ashley & Deborah, may God shine His love upon you everyday.

Dec 21 Afternoon
(Christmas gathering with ex-colleagues)
We attended a Christmas gathering organised by my ex-colleagues today at Eileen's house. This was my first meeting with them since I left AIA in late August. Time really flies and it's been three months since then. It was a good gathering as we talked about parenting and the kids enjoyed themselves very much. Cheers!!

Dec 24 (Silent Night, Holy Night)
I had a half day today in the office and in the afternoon, Vincent came to town to meet up with me. Naomi was here too and we just went to City Hall to pick up some baking stuffs. Subsequently we proceed to have our dinner and went back home as the streets start getting crowded. We spent the rest of the night at home and it was a significant one as this year we had Naomi physically with us. (Last year this time I was waiting expectantly for her to be born). She was crawling all over the place and constantly checking on her presents under the Christmas tree.

Part 4
Dec 25 (It's Christmas Day)
We went to Church this morning for the Christmas service. That was the usual activity for us on Christmas Day. After that we proceed to lunch and went back home. Sound boring? Well I guess now having a child makes us even more homely, haha, is that an excuse too! After we reached home I decided to visit the saloon to get a new look. But to my disappointment, the hair saloon I went to have very limited colour on the hair dye. Eventually I still colour my hair even though the colour not to my liking :(
In the evening, I plan an activity for my girl which is the opening up the presents. She receives a lot of Christmas gifts this year and I decided to have an nomination awards for these gifts. And the awards are :
Most Entertaining: Tommy cooker set (Mummy)
The Useful : Water Dispenser (Aunty Elaine)
Chinese Traditional: Chinese costume (Aunty Esther)
Most educational: My first 1001 Word (Aunty Kwee Wah)
The Creative Design: Musical Tin (Aunty Shuk Lin)
Part 5
Dec 26
Remember on Christmas Eve we went to town? Purpose is to buy the cake baking stuffs for Mimi's birthday and I actually left my document bag at the shop. It's only until we went home than I realised it and today I had to went back to pick it up since yesterday the shop was closed. So I bought Mimi along to Funan again and followed by a dinner gathering with Vincent and the rest of the Precepts members at Stephen's home in Punggol.

The Yee Yee's gathering

I had dinner with my secondary school mates this evening. It's meant to celebrate Sharon's birthday . This is always our usual practice of keeping in touch with one another ever since we left school. Wow we've be doing that for so many years already?? Nowaday, the gathering has evolve to be more like a children party instead for the adults. As you can see from the pictures below, we are indeed multiplying. Haha!! (By the way not all our kids are present). Good Singaporean adpoting the govertment policy.

Cornelius First Birthday Party

Cornelius celebrated his 1st Birthday today and my family was invited for the party. He was born on Christmas Eve 2008. The party was held in a pub at the River Walk. Prior to that we went to Great World shopping center to buy present for him. Mummy bought a pair of shoe with a bear in front for Cornelius. The design of the shoe was quite unique as it comes together with sock. Eventually Mummy bought a similar one for me also.

Developmental Milestones

This post was meant to be posted on 7th December as it was Naomi's 11 months old birthday but things get by too fast and I didn't had a chance to do it until now.
Well my girl is 11 months old now and in three weeks time she will be ONE. Wow that's unbelievable as it seems like just yesterday when she came into this world. Life are way much different now as compared to the earlier stages of her baby life. What she is capable of doing now is so awesome...
She is able to stand up on her own from a siting position and if you held one of her hand, she is able to walk although not in a stable manner yet. She is excited about this new acquired skill and started to roam around the house freely with the help of anythings she can get hold of; like a small stool whereby she puts both hands on top and started pushing and walking. This can be quite a hazard sometimes. Her sleeping habits also changes. She do not want to be carried or rock to sleep now but preferred to hold onto my hands or lay on my thigh to sleep. She would also woke up in the middle of the night crying and pointing at our bed signalling wanting to sleep with us. And the moment we put her onto our bed she stops her crying and sleep. What a good tactic she deployed. She was also able to respond with actions on certain words that was spoken to her. Example when asked who is the clever girl, she would clapped her hand or she would point to her shoes when we told her we are going out.
All in all , she is learning and absorbing at a fast pace which we are amazed by it. Thank God for this gift. Below are some pictures taken on 7 Dec with the Sesame Street characters.
