Hi everyone, my name is Naomi Chen Xuanning and you can call me Mimi for short. That's how Mummy always called me. By the way my Daddy's name is Vincent Tan and Mummy's name is Sally Ng.

I was born on 7th Jan 2008 by induction at Thomson Medical Centre after 40 weeks of gestation. My birth weight was 2.55kg with a length of 48cm and head circumference of 33cm.

With tender loving care from Daddy and Mummy I've grown!

Mummy's Worries

A week has passed and Naomi is still having her running nose. Whenever she is down with it, it would be a series of unsettled sleep for her every night. She will have difficulty in breathing as she is not able to blow her mucus out yet, and thus she will always wake up crying.

Medication like Zyrtec and nasal spray are always given to her to ease her discomfort. However once the effect of the medication wears off, the cycle starts again. Other methods such as sucking out her mucus is becoming more and more challenging for me as now she is able to recognise the act and she will protest it very much.

Oops... There she goes crying again... Well... Managed to put her back to sleep with the help of her favourite elephant rattle. Whenever she cries non stop, I will use that rattle to break her cry and pat her to sleep.

Ok back to the running nose issue... When she was much younger that time, I used to put her in the Fisher Price rocker to sleep. This rocker has a versatile seat angle which can position Naomi at an elevated angle without causing the nose to block. But now as she grows bigger, the chair is a bit too small for her. Wonder any other usefully help is available???

My girlfriend told me that it is very common for babies to get running nose and I really prayed that Naomi will recover from it soon, so that she can go swimming with Reyes & Reyden!
