Hi everyone, my name is Naomi Chen Xuanning and you can call me Mimi for short. That's how Mummy always called me. By the way my Daddy's name is Vincent Tan and Mummy's name is Sally Ng.

I was born on 7th Jan 2008 by induction at Thomson Medical Centre after 40 weeks of gestation. My birth weight was 2.55kg with a length of 48cm and head circumference of 33cm.

With tender loving care from Daddy and Mummy I've grown!

Developmental Milestone

This week has been a very fulfilling week for me & Vincent. Currently at 7 months and 2 weeks old, Naomi has started to babble words such as "papa", "mama" and "baobao". They sounded like a stream of consciousness monologues in another language with endless words strung together. Whenever she wants our attention, she would put on a vulnerable facial expression, sometimes with tears on her cheeks and start babbling non-stop. It melts our hearts to see her like that and we give in to her request ultimately. Nevertheless we always thanked God for her good development....

Besides the babbling, I also noticed that she is trying to stand up whenever she gets to hold on to something. It happened this evening when I put her down in the playpen while I went away for a moment, she suddenly stood up and bent half of her body over the playpen! I had to grab hold of her quickly, otherwise I believed she would fell off the playpen! Thank God for His hands of protection upon her!

I guessed it's time we had to spend money again as she has outgrown herself in the playpen. However we still can't decide on whether to replace it with a toddler bed or simply just lay a mattress on the floor for her to sleep on. Advice has been given to me that laying mattress on the floor is much more safer and practical but I personally felt a bit uncomfortable for her to sleep on the floor while we sleep on the bed. Moreover I'm worried that she will roll under our bed. Hmmm... Any comment on this?

The next developmental milestone I am looking forward is when will she start crawling and the growing of her first tooth.
